IG Spaces is operated by InspireU ("we", "our", "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our learners, instructors, and parents. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the IG Spaces platform.
1. Information We Collect
When you use IG Spaces, we collect the following information:
Account Information: Name, email, and phone number when creating an account.
Uploaded Content: Deliverables, assignments, and other learning materials uploaded by students or instructors.
Platform Activity: Comments on deliverables, marks/grades, and records of attempted email or WhatsApp communications (not message contents).
Parental Consent: For learners under 18 but not under 13, we collect confirmation of parental consent.
Technical Data: Cookies are used to maintain secure login sessions.
ℹ️ We do not collect or process payment information on our platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
- Provide access to courses, live sessions, recorded videos, and deliverable submissions.
- Facilitate communication between learners, instructors, and parents.
- Send reports and notifications to learners, instructors, and parents (including via WhatsApp).
- Maintain and improve platform security and functionality.

3. How We Share Your Information

However, we use secure third-party services to operate our platform:
File Storage: Files are stored securely using R2.
Database Hosting: Our database is hosted on PlanetScale (AWS, EU region).
Communication Tools: Instructor account IDs may be stored for integrations.
All providers are chosen with privacy and security best practices in mind.
4. Data Retention
- • Account and activity data are retained for up to 3 years of inactivity.
- • If you request account deletion, your data is retained during a 30-day grace period and then permanently deleted. Signing in or using the account during that period cancels the request. Instructors whose accounts are deleted also delete the subjects they own, including subject materials, submissions, reports, and related class records.
5. Security
We use industry best practices to protect your data, including:
- • Encryption of data in transit (SSL).
- • Secure password storage (hashing).
- • Static and dynamic code analysis to identify vulnerabilities.
6. Your Rights
As a user, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete your account from inside the app or request correction or deletion of your data by contacting us.
- Withdraw consent for communication (including WhatsApp messages).
Account deletion can be started from the mobile account menu or directly from our account deletion page. After confirmation, deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period. Signing in or using the account during that period automatically cancels the request. Once the grace period expires, authentication records, profile data, subject memberships, comments, submissions, video watch activity, and related personal records are removed from our active systems. If the account belongs to an instructor, all subjects owned by that instructor are deleted at the same time.

7. Children's Privacy
- • Learners under 18 may use the platform only with parental consent.
- • We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the platform.
8. Cookies
We use cookies only to maintain secure login sessions.
We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
9. WhatsApp Communication
We use WhatsApp only for:
- Sending performance reports.
- Sending course-related notifications.
⚠️ We will not use WhatsApp for marketing or promotional messages.
10. International Data Protection
Since we operate in the EU, we comply with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.
